VitaLink Child Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to the VitaLink Child Android app published under the package name com.berloga.vitalink.
1. Who we are
VitaLink Child is provided by Alexander. If you have questions, data access requests, or deletion requests, contact: berlogamailbox@gmail.com.
2. What this app does
VitaLink Child is the child-side companion app for family device management. It can pair a child device with a parent-managed app, report daily screen time, receive remote lock or unlock commands, apply timed blocks, and support device-management features on the child device.
3. Information we collect
Depending on how the app is configured, we may collect and process:
- Device and app identifiers, such as an installation identifier, pairing code, app version, and basic device model label.
- Screen time information used to calculate and report the amount of time the device is used during the current day.
- Child device status information, such as whether the device is currently locked, when a timed block ends, whether usage access is granted, and whether device-management privileges are active.
- Locally stored settings and state, such as the child label, pairing code, lock reason, and sync status messages.
- Network and diagnostic information generated when the app communicates with backend services or third-party SDKs.
- Information about installed applications or device security state if required to support integrity, compatibility, parental-control, or policy-enforcement features.
4. Permissions and device features
The app may request or use the following Android capabilities:
- Internet and network state access to sync with backend services.
- Usage Access to calculate screen time statistics for the child device.
- Device Admin or Device Owner capabilities to apply remote lock and related device-management features.
- Querying installed applications where needed for parental-control or device-integrity functionality.
- Boot completion events so the app can restore lock state and resume sync behavior after restart or app update.
5. How we use information
- To pair the child device with a parent-managed app.
- To display and sync daily screen time to the parent side.
- To receive and apply lock, unlock, and timed block commands.
- To maintain local lock state and restore it after reboot.
- To operate, secure, debug, and improve the app.
6. Sharing of information
We do not sell personal information. We may share data with:
- Supabase and related infrastructure providers used to store pairing records, child status, screen time reports, and parent-issued commands.
- Service providers, hosting providers, and legal authorities when required to operate the service, protect rights, or comply with law.
7. Data security and storage
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data processed by VitaLink Child. This includes using HTTPS for backend communications, limiting local app data to app-private storage where possible, and restricting backend access through service-side controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Data we do not intentionally request
VitaLink Child is not designed to request precise location, contacts, call logs, SMS content, photos, microphone recordings, or camera media for its core parental-control features. If future versions add such features, this policy will be updated before those features are enabled in production.
9. Data retention
We retain child-device data for as long as it is needed to operate VitaLink Child, maintain the paired service, fulfill support requests, resolve disputes, or comply with legal obligations. Some information may also remain temporarily in backups and logs. Local app data can be removed by uninstalling the app, but backend records may remain until they are deleted through a support request.
10. Your choices and deletion requests
- You can revoke certain Android permissions through system settings, but this may limit parental-control features.
- You can uninstall the app to remove locally stored data from the device.
- To request deletion of backend records, contact berlogamailbox@gmail.com and include the app name, package name, and, if available, the pairing code or installation identifier.
11. Children's privacy
VitaLink Child is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or legal guardian for family device-management purposes. Parents or guardians are responsible for reviewing this policy and deciding whether the app is appropriate for their household and jurisdiction.
If this app is offered to households with children under 13, parents or guardians should review the app's permissions, data practices, advertising behavior, and device-management capabilities before use.
12. Third-party privacy information
- Backend infrastructure providers may process data on our behalf.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
